Nothing looks as sophisticated as an all white look -especially against bronzed skin of summer! A perfect fade out from the pastel influx of spring -its a trend that has taken longer then expected to breeze from the catwalks to the backs of the FE (fashions elite). Like a breathe of fresh air; white on white is just what our wardrobes ordered.
Seeping the colour from what has been a bright winter transitioning to a sorbet spring - White on white is one of those delightful trends that takes more skill than budget. Meaning that although every-which-sportsgirl-buying-bardot-hoping-holigan will be able to afford the trend -mastering it will be the test!
Personally I think its all in the tailoring and fit! Think white skinny leg jeans with a cropped white swing top or fitted sheer white singlet (that next to naked look) with bloomer shorts in a thick white crochet. My favourite is the flared white pant with a crisp shirt (although I do not have the model figure to truly pull this look off -all the fabric is generally overwhelming on me). I think we will be seeing more & more of the flared trouser this coming season in general, so if you can nap a pair in white ( I think sass & bide have a pair) they will last you well into winter!
From Dolce and Gabbana to Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang to YSL, head to toe white has brought an air of optimism to summer collections, this is a trend that I believe will set roots into our wardrobes well into winter 2013. Its also a great opportunity to by quality white basics. Unlike neon, these pieces will be quality investments that will become staples in your wardrobe for years to come!
If your looking for somewhere to start, an absolute favourite of mine is the knitted peplum top in white by Bec & Bridge - its amazing and wont date..
